Nicaragua: 25 years ago, WFP was born in Jalapa, Nicaragua. Learn from those who still struggle for justice.

Colombia: Witness the strength of a society resolved to bring peace to war-torn Colombia and forge a new future.

Guatemala: Demonstrate your ongoing solidarity with the people of this fascinating, beautiful country

Mexico: Stand with Mexicans facing the consequences of failed trade policy, state repression, and mass emigration.

Venezuela: Move beyond the rhetoric to experience the reality Venezuelans are living today.

Learn, Organize, and Celebrate Together!

The WFP National Grassroots Conference will bring activists from all over the U.S. to Washington to examine the critical issues facing Latin America and to learn skills to carry the movement forward.

Workshop Topics: Free Trade & Labor Rights * The Drug War in Colombia * The Roots of Migration * The Trade and Travel Ban on Cuba

Skill-Building Trainings: lobbying * media outreach * faith community organizing * working with political candidates * building a strategic campaign

Lobby Day (Monday, June 23): Educate your Representatives about the impacts of U.S. policies toward Latin America. Please call their offices in advance to schedule the meeting, and let us know when you have.

*Note: the conference will be held at Georgetown University, and the celebration will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard Street NW, Washington D.C. The cost of the conference is $60 and includes the entrance to the celebration, which alone is $25.*
