Jess Hunter-Bowman
Andean Regional Director

Prior to re-joining Witness for Peace in January 2006, Jess was Senior Associate at the U.S. Office on Colombia for two years. There, Jess directed the Public Education Program and worked on the Advocacy Program. He spoke on numerous panels and wrote documents for policymakers on U.S. policy reform as well as the human rights situation in Colombia. Jess served as a member of the Witness for Peace board of directors from 2004-2005.

From 1998 to 2002 Jess served as a member of the Witness for Peace International Team. Jess worked on the Guatemala program and co-founded both the Mexico and Colombia programs. He previously volunteered as a human rights observer in the indigenous communities of Chiapas, Mexico.

Jess is married and he and his wife, Janna, live in Bogotá, Colombia.
