Retreat 2010 Continuing the Struggle: Solidarity with Honduras
Witness for Peace Mid-Atlantic Annual Retreat
Activists and organizers from around the Mid-Atlantic came together for an exciting and powerful weekend of change-making.
Our featured speaker was
Rodolfo Pastor de Maria y Campos, member of DC-based
Hondurans for Democracy. Rodolfo lives in the U.S. in exile, after working in the Honduran embassy in DC before and during the coup that ousted democratically-elected President Manuel Zelaya last June. Rodolfo will share with us an update from the resistance movement in Honduras and discuss how we can work in solidarity from here in the U.S.
Other workshops included Independent Media with members of the Latino Media Collective as well as activist skillshares on multicultural organizing and incorporating the arts into your activism.
Rich Gardner from Pennsylvania took some great photos to document the retreat. Thanks, Rich! Keep your eyes out for the announcement of next year's retreat, which will be held in early April near Reading, PA.
