Pennsylvania Comes to DC for Anti-CAFTA Lobby Day
Tuesday, July 19th 11:00am-6:00pm
Please RSVP ASAP with Potential Participants

Dear Friends in Pennsylvania,

The Bush administration is pushing for a vote on CAFTA next week, and Pennsylvania, with more than 10 swing House votes, is where this fight will be won or lost. We need folks of all stripes and from all over Pennsylvania to join us next Tuesday, July 19th to flood Washington, DC to lobby Congress to VOTE NO ON CAFTA.

Have your members come join the swarm of orange-shirted "STOP CAFTA" Pa workers, farmers, students and people of faith who will be making their presence felt on Capitol Hill next week.

CAFTA Lobby Day Training
11am-12:30pm
Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church
201 Independence Ave., SE
(Fourth and Independence Ave., SE)
Washington, DC 20003
Tel: 202-547-8676
Directions to the church are here:

Buses will leave DC to return to Pennsylvania at 6pm.

Background: With nearly every Democrat in the House of Representatives solidly against CAFTA, we can assure our long-struggled-for victory by locking down our Pennsylvania Republicans. Reps. Weldon, Gerlach, Fitzpatrick, Platts, Shuster, Peterson, Sherwood, Dent, Murphy, and English are all still undecided, and their votes will make the difference.

Now is our last, best opportunity to make sure that CAFTA is defeated and give Pennsylvanians a fighting chance for decent jobs, fair farm commodity prices and a healthy environment. This fight is for our friends in Central America to ensure that AIDS patients won't lose access to lifesaving medicines, to avoid the destruction of the region's rural communities and to fight the disastrous NAFTA-style privatization and deregulation which force people to immigrate as refugees of the
global economy.

Please let me know as soon as you can how many folks you or your organization can bring to DC to stand up for fair trade! Once we confirm participants we'll need to get meeting requests in ASAP.

Yours,

David
