Finance and
Operations Manager Job Description
Witness for Peace seeks a
Finance and Operations Manager based in the Washington DC office
to administer and maintain organizational finances and manage
development operations. The Finance and Operations Manager will
handle all accounting, coordinate the development of the annual
budget, provide operational and logistical support to fundraising
work and assist with general office administration. Strong
candidates will have accounting experience, knowledge of Excel and
Peachtree Accounting Software, budgeting experience, strong writing
and organization skills and be very detail oriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer all
bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Coordinate overall
budgeting with Executive Director and staff
- Manage all revenue
processing
- Facilitate contract
negotiations with vendors, etc
- Manage human
resource/benefits programs
- Monitor all purchases and
disbursements
- Coordinate annual
financial audit
- Coordinate direct mail
production, managing timelines, interfacing with vendors and
consultants, and analysing results
- Research foundations and
religious institutions for funding possibilities, managing grant
applications and timelines
- Manage direct mail data
base and gift recognition
- Manage and oversee all
office computer and communication systems (computer network,
telephone system, etc)
- Manage the purchase and
maintenance of office equipment and supplies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational,
administrative and writing skills
- Careful attention to
detail and consistent follow-through with minimal supervision
- Strong team orientation,
- Accounting/bookkeeping
experience, knowledge of Excel and Peachtree Accounting software
- Experience in office
management and budgeting experience preferred
- Flexibility and
initiative; ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced
environment
- Web site management and
Microsoft Access database experience a plus
- Commitment to the
fundamental principles and ideals of Witness for Peace
- Minimum bachelors degree
- At least 3 years relevant
work experience, preferably with non-profit organization
